Sempre funding opportunities
Sempre’s charitable aims are to embrace research in music education and music psychology, encourage the exchange of ideas and disseminate research findings, fostering new research and assisting the work of new researchers. We offer a range of different named awards schemes, linked below.
Who is eligible?
Applications are particularly welcomed from individuals and collaborations involving under-represented groups, including working with financially challenged communities such as professional musicians or underserved communities. Where applications from members of underserved communities need further refinement, we may be able to support this through mentoring. This is considered on a case-by-case basis.
Funding guidelines
Clear outcomes
Funding must be clearly linked to explicit research outcomes or aims, although it is not expected that projects or activities will necessarily result in publications or other grant applications.
Budgets
All funding applications are by the linked application form and must include a detailed budget with justification where appropriate. Applicants are expected to seek the most cost-effective methods for their research activities (e.g., advance purchase for travel). The indicative maximum amounts given below are flexible; smaller projects are of course welcomed, and we reserve the option to offer part-funding.
Exclusions
Regretfully no funding is available for student fees, nor institutional on-costs.
Equipment ownership
If equipment is to be purchased as part of an award, a clear statement of ownership at the end of the project must be included.
