Title: Attending the “Alzheimer Association International Conference” (AAIC)

By attending the “Alzheimer Association International Conference” (AAIC), held in Los Angeles from the 14th to the 18th of July 2019, I had the chance to get up to date with the latest findings and the ongoing researches on dementia. It was an intense and formative experience where I was able to attend different workshops and seminars aimed at strengthening research skills and creating exclusive networking opportunities and open research discussions. In particular, during the “Alzheimer’s Association International Society to Advance Alzheimer’s Research and Treatment” event (ISTAART), I was able to enjoy an exchange of information and ideas with international top-class experts. Moreover, thanks to the high-quality presentations at the symposium, I learned new useful guidelines, information and best practice protocol development that will surely be useful both for the data analysis of my current experiments and to develop future up to date high-quality research projects. Of particular interest to me, I discovered research on new types of biomarkers that were found effective in measuring cognitive changes in older adults with cognitive impairment and hence be applicable also to monitor the benefits of non-pharmacological therapies.
