St. James Town Community Arts serves one of the most densely populated and underserved communities in Canada. Their mission is to make the arts accessible to children and youth in St. James Town and surrounding areas, while boosting their creativity to inspire change, build confidence, and foster a strong sense of belonging.

Recently, Sempre awarded a grant of CAD 5,000 to St. James Town Community Arts (SJTCA) in Toronto, Canada, in honour of the lifetime contribution of Professor Sandra Trehub (May, 21, 1938 – 20 January 2023) to research in the psychology of music, especially concerning musical development in early childhood.

As Chair of the SJTCA Board, Professor Sandra Trehub was dedicated to ensuring that arts education was accessible to all children, regardless of their financial circumstances.
