AMPS/APSCOM 2026 Conference

Overview

The Australian Music & Psychology Society will host this in-person conference in 2026, in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music.

The AMPS/APSCOM 2026 Conference will take place 8–11 December 2026 at the Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise, located on Australia’s Gold Coast. The event will be primarily in person, with an option for online presentations.

Call for Papers

Submissions are invited from across the broad field of music science. Presentations will be approximately 15 minutes in duration and delivered mainly in person, with limited opportunities for online participation.

Contributions are welcome at all stages of research, including:

• Works in progress (e.g., PhD students, post-confirmation, reporting on work underway)
• Completed projects (e.g., sharing findings)
• Discussion/Position papers

Abstracts are to be no more than 200 words and should outline the research question or focus, the context for the work, and any results or hypothesised outcomes of a prospective project and conclusions (no references are necessary). While a structured abstract is not required, headings may include Introduction, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.

Awards

Following the success of previous conferences, presenters may self-nominate for Student and Early Career Researcher (ECR) Keynote Awards during submission. Selected awardees will be invited to deliver keynote presentations.
