An Introduction to Serbian Performing Arts Education: Critical Insights
As Chair of the Department of Solfege at the University of Arts in Belgrade, Vera Milankovic founded the Pedagogical Forum of Performing Arts in 1998. Originally a platform for educators to share teaching and research experiences, it expanded to include discourse on performance, musicology, drama pedagogy, and special education. Today, it hosts an international symposium on teaching and learning in the performing arts.

Children’s Musical Worlds: sempre conference abstracts
This one-day Sempre conference on music psychology and education was hosted by the Institute of Education, University of Reading, on 25 October 2014. The scientific committee welcomed submissions on a broad range of topics, including musical worlds created by, with, and for children, as well as studies on childhood engagement with music and its lifelong impact. The conference followed a special postgraduate study day on 24 October 2014, titled Exploring Music Education and Psychology Research.

Music and Empathy: Sempre conference proceedings
This one-day Sempre conference hosted by the University of Hull included invited presentations, a specialist workshop and selected submissions from researchers on the theme of music and empathy. In recent years there has been a growing interest in empathy in the fields of music psychology and education. Research in music and empathy now spans a variety of contexts, including education and development, emotion, listening, and performance.

Abstracts: Sempre 40th Anniversary Conference
The Sempre 40th Anniversary Conference, held at the Institute of Education, London (14–15 September 2012), celebrated four decades of research. It featured keynotes, roundtables, and special sessions with leading scholars, including past and present Chairs and Journal Editors. The event launched special issues of Psychology of Music and Research Studies in Music Education, with displays from Sage and Ashgate highlighting Sempre’s publishing contributions.

Proceedings: Sempre Conference ‘Striking a Chord’: Music Health and Wellbeing: a conference exploring current developments in research and practice
This conference provided an overview of these developments in research and practice in the field of music, health and wellbeing. In particular, the conference focused on the use of music in health and social care settings, public health promotion and community development, and the role and value of established community music activity for wellbeing and health.
